First, go to the SABC music submission site and create an account.
Once your account is set up and verified, log in and upload your music.
You’ll be required to fill in detailed information about your track, so don’t rush this part.
What You Need Before Uploading
Based on the submission form, make sure you have all of this ready:
Basic Track Info
- Song Title
- Artist Name
- Producer
- Composer
Rights & Metadata
- Record Label
- Publisher
- ISRC Code
- Author / Text Writer
Release Details
- Release Year
- Country of Release
- Language
File Uploads
You’ll need to upload:
- Your song file (MP3 or WAV)
- Cover artwork (image file only)
Additional Info
- Genre
- Station selection (choose 5FM)
- Featured Artist (if any)

How the Submission Process Works
Once you upload your track through https://musicsubmission.sabc.co.za/, your music is reviewed by the SABC music team. If everything is filled in properly, your files work, and your track meets broadcast quality, it can be considered for airplay on 5FM. The process is straightforward, but it’s competitive, so your sound and presentation need to be on point.
